Botanical Name: Passiflora Edulis
Aromatic Description: Maracuja Oil, also known as Passion fruit seed oil, is derived from the seeds of passion fruits. Passion seed oil is the oil from the flowers' seeds that grow on the passion fruit plant, native to South and Central America. Passion seed oil is a light, golden colour and has a neutral scent. Passion fruit oil contains nutrients that are good for the skin, like Vitamins A and C, essential fatty acids, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and carotenoids. Due to the high vitamin C and antioxidant content, passion fruit oil helps slow the damage that leads to the appearance of ageing and helps preserve collagen and elastin, which keep skin looking firm and youthful. Passion fruit oil is also a great source of vitamin A in the form of carotenoids, which is critical for cell growth and repair. Several phytochemicals in the oil support the body's production of vitamin A, which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The high content of fatty acids, such as linoleic and oleic acids, "feeds" the skin what it needs to maintain its structure, keeping the skin smooth and plump while helping to fend off the appearance of fine lines. The oil is light and non-greasy, allowing the skin to absorb it quickly and easily. It's the perfect moisturiser for all skin types and works well for acne-prone skin because of its non-clogging moisturising action. Like most plant-sourced ingredients, passion fruit oil has anti-inflammatory properties and may help reduce swelling and irritation. The antibacterial properties help relieve skin acne and prevent blackheads and scarring. It also helps reduce redness and pain. Passion fruit Seed oil is recognised for preventing skin and age-related issues. This oil can also be used as a massage oil, helping ease the pain of arthritic joints and muscle pain.
